Privacy Policy

1. Summary

ChatFolio is designed around local processing. Our browser extensions read AI conversation data only to perform the export or viewing action you request. Conversation content processed by the extensions is not sent to ChatFolio servers, is not sold, and is not used for advertising or AI model training.

The ChatFolio website and web viewer use limited website analytics as described below. Website analytics do not receive the text of your AI conversations or the contents of files you open in the web viewer.

2. Products covered by this policy

This policy applies to ChatFolio websites and tools, including:

• chatfolio.io, the ChatFolio website;
• app.chatfolio.io, the ChatFolio Web Viewer;
• ChatFolio browser extensions, including Easy AI Chat Downloader and Full LLM Conversation Extractor; and
• viewer pages bundled inside those browser extensions.

Native ChatFolio applications may provide additional privacy information in their app-store listings or inside the applications.

3. Browser extension data handling

Conversation data

When you deliberately invoke a ChatFolio extension on a supported AI conversation page, the extension may read the conversation text and related conversation metadata that are available in that page or its underlying page data. This can include items such as the conversation title, messages, message roles, timestamps, model or provider information, and conversation structure.

This access is used to create the Markdown or JSON export you requested and, where available, to display that same conversation in the extension's local viewer.

Local processing

Conversation content handled by the extensions is processed locally in your browser. Export files are saved to a location controlled by your browser, normally your Downloads folder. The extension may use browser-local or session storage to hold preferences or temporarily pass an exported conversation to its bundled viewer.

What we do not do with extension conversation data

• We do not transmit your exported conversation content to ChatFolio servers.
• We do not sell conversation data.
• We do not share conversation data with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not use conversation data for advertising, profiling, or credit decisions.
• We do not use your conversations to train AI models.
• We do not permit humans working on ChatFolio to read your locally processed conversations through the extension.

4. Browser permissions

ChatFolio extensions request only permissions needed for their user-facing export and viewing functions. Depending on the extension and version, these permissions can include access needed to:

• read a supported AI conversation page when you invoke the extension;
• run extraction code on that page;
• save the resulting export through the browser's download system;
• store extension preferences or temporary local viewer data; and
• open the bundled ChatFolio viewer or a ChatFolio website page.

These permissions are not used to build a browsing-history profile or to collect unrelated website content.

5. ChatFolio Web Viewer

Files opened in the ChatFolio Web Viewer are read and rendered by JavaScript running in your browser. The contents of those files are not uploaded to ChatFolio for rendering.

The web viewer may send limited, non-content analytics events such as the type of file opened, detected AI provider, message count, and interactions with product links. It does not send the conversation text or the filename as part of those analytics events.

6. Website analytics

ChatFolio uses Google Analytics 4 on chatfolio.io and app.chatfolio.io to understand website usage and whether links from ChatFolio products are useful. Google Analytics can process information such as page views, session statistics, traffic source or campaign parameters, approximate geographic location, and browser or device information. Google Analytics may use first-party identifiers such as the _ga cookie.

ChatFolio also records limited product-interaction events, such as clicks to an app store or the web viewer. We configure these events so that AI conversation text and opened-file names are not intentionally sent to Google Analytics.

Google provides its own information about how Google Analytics handles data. You can also use browser privacy controls, content blockers, or Google-provided opt-out mechanisms where available.

7. Hosting and service providers

ChatFolio websites are delivered using Cloudflare infrastructure. Like other web infrastructure providers, Cloudflare may process ordinary network and request information needed to deliver, secure, and operate the website.

Google provides the analytics service described above. These service providers process data under their own terms and privacy obligations. They do not receive your AI conversation content from the ChatFolio browser extensions as part of the extension's local export process.

8. Data sharing and sale

ChatFolio does not sell personal data. We do not transfer extension conversation content to third parties for advertising, data brokerage, profiling, or unrelated purposes.

Limited website analytics data can be processed by the service providers described in this policy for website measurement, delivery, security, and operation. We may also disclose information when required by applicable law or a valid legal process.

9. Data retention and deletion

Files created by a browser extension are stored under your control. You can delete exported files through your operating system and clear extension-local data through your browser.

Temporary data used by a bundled extension viewer may remain in browser-local storage for the period required by that viewer or until browser/extension data are cleared. Website analytics are retained according to the retention settings configured for our Google Analytics property and the applicable service-provider terms.

10. Security

We design ChatFolio extensions to minimize data transfer and keep conversation processing local where practical. No software or storage system can provide an absolute guarantee of security, so users should still protect exported files according to the sensitivity of their contents.

11. Children's privacy

ChatFolio is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly design the service to collect personal information from children through the extension export process.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when ChatFolio products, permissions, or data practices change. Material changes to browser-extension data practices will be disclosed as required by the applicable browser-extension store policies.
